About the Label

Neepawa Music is an independent record label and music publishing company based in Ottawa, Ontario, founded by songwriter David-Michael Hewens. Working under the credo “Abundance. Creativity. Connection.”, the label writes, produces, and releases original music — country, rock, contemporary jazz, dance, and narrative concept works, a catalog of more than sixty songs and growing — plus supplementary music for education, including the Aeterna Roma Latin series. Every release is published in-house and distributed to streaming platforms worldwide.

What we do

Record label. We develop artists' recordings from song to release — production, artwork, and distribution to every major streaming platform.

Music publishing. We administer the song catalog: licensing for film, television, advertising, and stage, and pitching songs to recording artists.

Supplementary music for education. Songs and study materials built for the classroom — including Aeterna Roma Series I, ten singable Latin songs for high school and university Latin classes.
